How it works
Rate the visit. Share the tip by results.
A short survey after each visit measures what went well. Those results, not who carried the check, decide how the tip pool is shared among the team.
-
Visit a TipRupt venue
Nothing changes about ordering or paying. A QR code on the receipt or table invites you to rate the visit.
-
Answer a few quick questions
Rate a handful of dimensions such as food, service, beverage service and facility. Well under a minute, with a hard cap on questions.
-
Earn points, tip the team
Completing the survey earns points the venue funds. You can tip as part of the same flow, and the tip goes into the shift's pool.
-
The pool is shared by results
At the end of the shift, day or week, the pool is split across dimensions by how they scored and how much they matter to the venue, then across the people on shift in the roles behind each one, by time worked.
-
Spend points on promos
Use points on promotions at the venue and, later, across the TipRupt venue network.
Prototype note.
The survey design, compensation model and tokens are being designed in phase 1 and tested by simulation before any pilot. The split must also follow local tip-pool law; for example, US law bars managers and supervisors from taking from a tip pool, so management is left out of the example below.
How guests first get tokens, and whether TipRupt's coin is a stablecoin or an equity-style token, are open questions.
An example evening
