Tips that reward the whole visit.

TipRupt replaces the ever-rising tip prompt with a short post-visit survey. The results decide how the tip pool is shared among everyone who made the visit good: the floor, the kitchen, the bar and the people who keep the place running.

The problem

Tipflation asks for more and measures nothing.

Guests are asked to tip more often, at higher rates, at more kinds of business. The tip goes to whoever touches the check, worker pay swings from shift to shift, and venues get almost no structured feedback.

72% of US adults say tipping is expected in more places than five years ago. Pew Research Center, 2023
77% say service quality is a major factor in whether and how much they tip. Pew Research Center, 2023
~23% of a typical restaurant employee's income comes from tips. Square, 2025

The benefits pool

A share of every subscription funds benefits for service workers.

Few service-industry workers have benefits such as health insurance, and they often move between venues. TipRupt plans to pool a defined share of venue subscription revenue into benefits that follow the worker, not the employer.

What's real today

The vision, roadmap and concept paper are recorded, and a reference implementation of the tip-pool split runs in code. The survey design, compensation model, coin and benefits pool are still being designed, and none of it is live.
